Biosoft 32
Description
BIOSOFT 32 is a biodegradable, plant-based plasticizer designed for use in rubber compounding. It is derived from refined rapeseed oil and contains antioxidant and pour-point-depressant additives, ensuring long-term stability and reliable performance even at low temperatures. BIOSOFT 32 provides excellent compatibility with elastomers and improves flexibility and processability in rubber compounds.
Applications
• Plasticizer for natural and synthetic rubbers (e.g. EPDM, NR, CR)
• Suitable for soft and flexible rubber parts
• Eco-friendly alternative to mineral and aromatic oils
• Particularly suitable for outdoor applications requiring low-temperature resistance
Key Benefits
• Excellent flexibility and plasticizing performance
• Light color, low odor
• Excellent low-temperature flow properties
• Biodegradable (> 60% OECD 301D)
• Based on renewable vegetable raw materials
• Fully compliant with REACH and EU regulations (low PAH content)
• No interference with vulcanization at typical loadings
Storage and Handling
Store in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and contamination. Avoid prolonged exposure to light and elevated temperatures. For more details, refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
Parameters
| Pour Point | The pour point of a liquid is the temperature below which the liquid loses its flow characteristics. < -15 °C |
|---|---|
| Flash point | The lowest temperature at which enough vapor escapes from a heated sample above its surface into the air that the resulting mixture of vapor and air ignites when an auxiliary flame is brought close to it and then extinguishes again. > 280 °C |
| Biodegradability in 28 days | Biologically sufficiently rapid decomposition of oil without effect on fauna and flora. Biological decomposition monitored by dissolved oxygen analysis over 28 days. > 60 |
| Density at 15 °C | 900-940 kg/m3 |
| Kin. viscosity at 40 °C | The viscosity of a fluid is a measure of its resistance to gradual deformation by shear stress or tensile stress. 30-36 cSt |
