NSF H1: Safety of Our Oils for the Food Industry

What is NSF H1?

NSF H1 is a certification issued by NSF International for lubricants that may have incidental contact with food. The certification confirms that the lubricant is safe for use in food processing facilities and helps minimize the risk of contamination. H1 products meet strict regulatory requirements, including FDA 21 CFR, and are formulated to have minimal odor and taste.

Typical applications include:

  • protective film against corrosion of machine parts
  • release agent for seals or tank lids
  • lubrication of machine parts and equipment where incidental contact with food may occur

All registered products are listed in the NSF White Book, allowing verification of certification and ensuring reliability in accordance with hygiene and safety standards. This allows food processing operators to use lubricants safely without compromising food quality.
